Started by the IndyPl African American History Committee, Meet the Artist is an annual event that showcases the artistic talents of local and national Black talent in areas of the fine and literary arts. Performances and keynote speeches by artists such as Vivica A. Fox, Tamika Catchings and Deborah Asante have been featured over the 33 year span. In 2021, Meet the Artist hosted its first virtual event. (In Between the Lines, John Barnes)
